Rowdy Rowan

image

Rowdy Rowan,
Romping rich,
Lip red bunches;
Tempting pickings,
Brazenly dangling,
Robins’ deliriously
Pecking
Nature’s
Autumnal luncheon.

Rowan berries are loved by birds, particularly robins, however they are toxic to humans and dogs I believe when eaten raw. However, when cooked they are delicious in a jelly.

A-Z writing challenge, ‘U’ Undulating experience

image

Quiet backwater,
Contemplates,
Undulates, waiting
For enchanted admirers
Who seek tranquillity.

As dreams unfold,
Nature’s story is told,
Larks chorus,
Wood pigeon’s purr,
Swans drifting
Waiting for waters to stir.
Red Admirals flirt
With nectar rich flaura,
Honey bees
Seek wild Primula.
