Weekly photo challenge: Masterpiece

Storm

Advancing storm,
Emitting an ecstatic
Crescendo,
As incantations
Eerily echo.

Tumeric fields,
Wheat crazed
As wind wildly
Rips ears:
Tears fall
In furrows.

Columns of water
Fall like bars,
Between one
World and
The next.

Amber light
Like cat’s eyes
Blinking,
Charcoal
Clouds
Like sailors’
Muscular arms,
Tugging ropes,
As battered ships
Surf the waves
On a spitting
Sea.

This post is my response to the daily post’s weekly photo challenge, ‘masterpiece’. I feel that nature itself is a masterpiece and a storm is a masterpiece I can watch over and over again. Enjoy.

Salty sailing dream

image

Beached boats,
Huddled, hoping
To sail with
The incoming
Tide.

A dreamy flotilla
Follows creeks
Through
The salt marshes,
Meditatively
Meandering.

Bitterns hoot,
Black headed
Seagulls squark,
Salty,
Sea Lavender
Seduces
Sailors.

Southerly breezes
Fill mainsails
And jibs;
Shimmering
Seaspray spits
On faces
Dried by
Samphire,
Salty
Winds.

Naturally
Heeling,
Sailors intuitively
Right their boats
As rippling
Waters
Rhythmically
Slap
Against
Their bows.

Painterly colourful,
Pristine regatta
Proudly,  powers
Out to sea
Where
Sea faring
Story
Filled clouds,
Meet
The Ocean.
