Rhapsodic roses
Tumbling from pergolas
Showering our senses with
Aromatic essences;
Dreamy marshmallow,
Teeny fairy dancers,
Sprinkles of sherbet,
So tangy with a hint of lemon curd;
Silky peach petals so delightful,
Fluttering in buttery summer light.
Radiant wild roses,
Romantically
Reminiscent of
Fairy summer balls
Where lemon scented garlands
Twist and twirl,
Adoringly adorning
Dewy curves.
When feeling fraught,
A cup of tea is
A comforting thought.
A fairy bell
Tinkles in the glen!
Alerting magical waiters
To wield their pens.
A steam of perfume
Floats about the room,
Lifting the gloom.
Quickly the tea fairy
Sweeps up the crumbs,
With her funny wee broom.
Rose,
Violets,
Forget-me-nots
And sweet lilac,
Fluted chinzy china,
Sugar sweet tickling
Lips
Rippled raspberry
Giant meringues.
On my journey this year, I have noticed so many beautiful flowers, so today I have decided to celebrate the colour pink, the colour of our heart centre, bringing love and happiness into our lives. I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I’ve been enjoying my journey with the colour pink.
This photo was taken in a fishing village, Winterton on sea, Norfolk, last summer. I find the cottage eerie and I wonder how many spirits lie behind the windows and how many stories of past fishing lives have been told behind those windows. I also love the climbing roses.

The penultimate
Summer nectar;
Gliding gently
Onto slippery, soft
Petals releasing
Wild woody notes.
A saturating sherbet
Feast awaiting.
A chilly blaze
And brittle breeze
Curl up dozy petals.
Rewarded,
The bee drifts away
Dreaming of home.
Granny’s gate
Always open.
Skipping along
The cobbled path,
Brushing by
Candyfloss flowers
And lollypop lupins.
Icing sugar windows
Glisten.
West wind blows
Memories through
The front door;
Wibbly wobbly
Licorice beams
And painted furniture
For the three bears.
Rippling rose syrup
Ice cream topped
With sugar violets,
Savoured whilst
Wooed with
Tales of olden days
And recipes of
Dripping pink
Iced buns and
Drizzling
Lemon cake.
Whispers of
Garden Fairies
Painting dainty
Dust on playful
Plump plums,
Blushing berries
And sparkling
Strawberries.
Glowing gran
Kisses goodbye,
The vignette fades
To a hazy
Kaleidoscopic
Dream.
Nostalgia brings
Tears of joy,
Weeps away fears
And deeply
Heals.
A rose,
Elegant as
Oriental silk,
A Rhapsody in Ruby
Pink.
Luxurious,
Sensitive,
Connotes a
Sultry summer evening.
On the parterre,
A diva dances
To a phantasmagorical
Duet, divinely
Euphoric,
Embracing each
Others melodies.
A tingling of enrapturing
Ruby pink pollen,
Like dew drops
Drenching the soul,
The diva’s dulcet
Tones seek solace.
Mysteriously
A whirlwind of petals
Scatter love letters,
Breathless, the deva
Draws a petal.
Enraptured by
Ambrosial perfume,
Vivaciously,
She leaves
The soiree
To seek her beau.
Heart of the pagoda,
Lemon scented roses
Delightful, enticing.
Wild honey bees,
Busily seeking
Nectar from
An abundance of lavender.
Freshly mown grass
Reminiscent of
Childhood holidays.
