Soothed by the great ancient Oak

Soothing great ancient Oak
The Great Oak’s
Grooves,
Soothes the
Lovers’
Mood.
Tearful sap
Moves along
A wrinkling
Life’s map.
Dryads hearing about
The endearing team,
Draw the lovers
To the healing scene;
Tying them forever,
Settling the great tree.

Adorable Aliums

image

Adorable Aliums
Admirably
Watchful,
Waiting
For
Westerly
Breezes
To bring
Beating
Butterflies,
Bashfully
Languishing;
Feasting
In the shimmering
Sunshine.

Worn oak
Gardener’s door,
Wise,
Warm,
Memories
Of ancient
Forests,
A cool,
Comfortable
Note.

A key is turned:
Nature’s
Alchemy
Is unleashed;
Sophorific scents
From chamomile
Carpets,
Cheerful chickory
‘Cheek by jowel’
By jostling jewels:
Nasturtiums,
Echinacea
And towering
Sunflowers.

Wildwood fantasy

image

My childhood fantasy
Took me to the wildwood
Of my dreams.
Here in the wildwood
Existed earth
Sprites and nymphs.
I glimpsed them
Dancing and
Singing mysteriously.
I wished I was
Part of their world.

Wise garden gate

image

Garden gate
Creaks apologetically,
Proudly protecting
The spirited woodland
Flowers,
Towers of ivy
Secreting lovers
Poetry
And plump
Opinionated
Peonies standing proudly.

OldĀ  Boots and clogs
Scuffle, shuffle.
Dainty slippers,
Hide amongst old oaks,
Waiting to be found.

Elegantly embroidered
Shoes,
Skipping beneath
Romantic boughs,
Pregnant with blossom.
Whilst they whisper
Their wildest thoughts,
Chastity keeps
Them apart.

Dryads eggs hatching

Strokes and scribbles
Chisel out ancient tales
Like the lines on a human hand.

Dryads’ families lives
Imprinted on beautiful bark
Wrapped around the groaning oak.

image

Dryads’ eggs disguised as nodules, pulsate
And warm,
Sparkling eyes watching from
Dusk till dawn until
Time for rebirth.
