Wild, windy walk

I am walking through the tree line avenues protected from roaring warning winds.

Brittle branches are torn away landing like arrows ripping into the land’s heart.

Leaves dive and dart, grasses like babbling streams.

Leaning into an old gnarled tree, I look high into the patterns made by silhouettes of leaves.

What will I dream of…

Glorious bees

Glorious bees

Glorious bees thrive on electric blue filament like petals,

Glowing in a golden sea of pollen.

This wonderful structured plant, Cynara, like a giant artichoke has electric blue petals, however morning light and exposure has made them purple!

After a long period of very hot weather for the UK, the garden has welcomed rain and a cooler period, as I have deadheaded and weeded I have noticed bees and butterflies more often. My lawn is the colour of straw and probably won’t recover this summer.

I hope you are having a god day. Apologies for my go slow blogging at the moment due to disruption in routine as the builders have been at home. The resulting conservatory needs decorating and furnishing but has brought so much light inside the cottage, and I can enjoy changing weather, sunrises and sunsets as well as starry nights from inside!

White pillows

White pillows

Float into hollows, nooks

And burrows.

Aspen and willow,

Stark, dark: sinister

Whispering sharp wind

Billows.

Lichen hillocks.

Holly and blackthorns

Creak under laden leaves

Dripping icy nature’s tea.

Flirty flurries settle on warm cheeks

And tiny beaks.

Woodland Wildlife seeks solace

From fizzing blizzards.

Golden moments

Golden moments:

Crisp early morning walks

Bathed in energising light,

Playful companionship,

Remembered paths.

Dreamy Meadow

Lazily, toe by toe,

Treading on wispy grasses;

Soft silk bed of fresh miniature flora.

Soaring high –

 Skylarks, their

Singing lingers like lover’s whispers

Before vanishing through dreamy vapours.

Cow parsley’s filigree fountains

Shower the wake of Ox Eye daisies.

Hazy white petals slightly dazed,

Enjoy sherbet scented kissing wind.

Dreaming of Bluebells

I dream about being in a bluebell woodland,

Morning’s dampness on my hands.

I find a torn seam in elemental’s veil;

Ask to enter the precious trail.

Bare toes tickling on grassy moss,

Nose wrinkling as plumes of bluebells waft;

Lost in a deep purple blue lake,

Looking at the shapes the old oak makes,

Their wizened branches seeking light,

Orange tip butterflies flee with all their might!

Woodland’s serenade fades gently like a breeze;

I take a sip of Titania’s tea,

Finding myself mixing a pool of morning dew

With soothing dainty hues from the bluebell wood

on my watercolour palette ready for a new painting to emerge.

Replenishing Rapeseed

Rapeseed replenishes,

Energises.

Clouds of buttery yellow billow;

Brimstones and Commas drenched

In honeyed pollen,

Wings tilting elegantly

Dancing in sunshine.

Unfortunately those gorgeous delicate butterflies won’t linger long enough! But it is wonderful to watch them.

Rapeseed oil I hear is very good for us, especially if it is cold pressed. It can help painful joints.

Happy Easter all! 🙂

Wintery Willows

Billowy fiendish wind sweeps

 Sighing leaves from

Wintery willows reaching,

Leaning slender beams

From tender pillows, bending

o’er crispy fire red carpeted paths,

Beside the glistening river Ouse

Silently soothes.

Summer breeze dreams

Summer breeze heeds the

Whispering reeds;  signature

Like shadows tell tales.

Tranquility among the grasses

image

Bashfully passing through
Languishing grasses,
As peeping, floppy poppies
Leap and dive like dashing
Flamenco dancers.
