Mystical Thistles

Mystical Thistles

Twist their silver

Bristles.

Sycamore keys

Kiss in seed

Filled mists.

Fairies in gilded rickshaws

Ride at a lick on

Chamomile lawns:

Admired by

Nymphs

Tooting silver

Horns.

Victorian town Parks such as this one near the stunning Embankment in Bedford,  offer beautiful borders along pathways  to explore, abundant with nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the town.  I enjoyed a lazy summer afternoon here with a friend after a leisurely lunch. I expect these thistles will appear in my design work soon!  🙂

Furry Friday: Owl king

image

From cathedral beams,
A great owl spreads
His wings, like
A Gold and ermine
Cloak for a King.
Gracefully gliding
Shimmering in the shadows,
Drawn to the
Illuminated eyes
Darting by
The light
Of the moon.

Chameleon visions

image

Visions of the lake,
Forever changing,
A Chameleon,
Cerulean blue,
Turquoise,
Burnt umber
With sparkling eyes.

Menacingly shifting,
Willows shiver,
West winds cry.

Moody shapeshifting,
Undercurrents stir,
Spinning and billowing
Like skirts trapped
In tangled weeds.

In shallow beds,
Shingle smashes
Against twisted
Roots.

Herons skim
Across mesmerising waves.

A-Z letter E East Wind

East wind
Sharply whips through
Woodland’s weary veins,
Cool, crisp,
Freezing, fraying
Tendrils sweep
And fray.

Nature’s Magic

image

Array of Witches besoms
Standing proud
Primed to sweep Winter’s grey snood.

Invigorating sunken seeds
And tangled roots,
Forcefully thrusting high
Beyond the dripping land.
