Nature’s muse

2015-02-23 11.00.48-3_2Lullaby orchard,

Undulating verdant lawn,

sundrenched spring morn,

Thawing thirsty buds,

Bursting with

Honeyed dew:

Nature’s muse.

Sometimes my sat nav takes me up a country lane which appears to be going nowhere. Without this quirky technology I wouldn’t have found this gorgeous little tranquil spot deep in the English countryside. I stopped my car and the dogs and I drank in the honeyed, gentle early spring morning. It was a special moment which reminded me of how inspirational nature is to me. Enjoy your day or evening. 🙂

Ese’s weekly shoot and quote challenge:Silence

image

Waters’ gleam
Charcoal silhouettes dream;
Mellow scene;
Tangerine ripples,
Heavenly sparkles.

Shadows darken,
Silence harkens
A winter lullaby.

Swans glide
Like ghostly galleons;
Coots roost,
Owls hoot;
Nature’s curtain falls,
Memories are caught
In the dream
Catcher’s web.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers: Layers of time

image

Layers of leaves,
Maturing over
Many years
Of stormy winds,
Shaking trees.
Magnificent
Colours,
Russet,
Mottled olive;
Fatefully fluttering,
Flaking and fainting;
Mingling,
Tingling
With frost;
Splattered
With raindrops,
Rhythmically
Singing
A lullaby
For creatures
Snuggling
In the moss.

Lullaby Iris

image

Lullaby Iris
Lilting sweet tones,
Gently rocking.

Lullaby Iris,
Comforting, caressing,
A galleon gliding on
A serene
And misty sea,
Exploring eternity,
Gently rocking.

Lullaby Iris,
Sweetly scented pillows,
Palest, pearlescent blue,
Romancing, dreaming,
Gently rocking.

Lullaby Iris,
Fairies frolicking
To mesmerizing melodies
Played by the fledgling lutist,
Flying on filigree clouds,
Gently rocking.

Bluebell lullaby

image

On a lush spring bank,
Sweet meadow herbs
Mingle their magic
With the elegant,
Curvaceous,
Intoxicating, fever
Calming
Bluebell: Queen
Of the night.

Nature’s pillow,
Plump and soothing,
Drop tears of nectar,
Through pursed lips,
Sweet and melting like
fine, buttery, moist
Cake crumbs.
Soporific.

Stars of the meadow
Shine in the mind,
Showering
Thousands of tiny,
Crystal,  tinkling bells.
One of nature’s
Finest lullabies.
