Droplets

Droplets of light, majestically falling at the entrance to the V&A Museum in London.  I was wondering when I was going to use this photo and Sonel’s challenge ‘droplets’ proved the ideal opportunity.  The first one is my original, cropped in Snapseed and the second has a vintage tint and border to complement the period of the building.  I can easily spend a whole day at the V&A, taking photographs, drawing and eating!  Enjoy

Red ruby reminders
Everywhere,
Musty fungi,
Munchy forage.
Prickles & pickles,
Russets & possets,
Jellies & relish,
Rambles & tangles.
Sanguine serenade.

Blackberry burst

This photo was taken during a walk along the Grand Union canal at Winkwell, a wonderful name for a village!  I loved the rich, ripe colours of the berries in this sunny spot.

Blackberries burst
From every hedgerow,
Thrusting juicy jewels,
Ripening purple pearls.
Stolen stains on
Satiated lips.

Celebration of love

Ethereal mist
Flows through
The wrought iron
Aged bench
Whispering
Messages of love,
Weaving hope
Amongst heavenly
Herbs
And golden buttercups.
Years of enduring love
Creak sympathetically
With weathered wood,
Serenely surveying
The synergy of nature
Like the romantic celebration
Of eternal love.

Wilderness Trail

Footsteps trailing
Meditatively,
Anonymously
Following the
Intimately
Woven water’s edge,
Fraying
Like a hessian canvas.

Startled mallards
Fly in matrices.
The whistling winds
Ward off timid tits
Huddling amidst
Eiderdown blossoms.
Swifts screech,
Sweeping as
Wild waves make
Signets weep.

Chameleon visions

Visions of the lake,
Forever changing,
A Chameleon,
Cerulean blue,
Turquoise,
Burnt umber
With sparkling eyes.

Menacingly shifting,
Willows shiver,
West winds cry.

Moody shapeshifting,
Undercurrents stir,
Spinning and billowing
Like skirts trapped
In tangled weeds.

In shallow beds,
Shingle smashes
Against twisted
Roots.

Herons skim
Across mesmerising waves.

Unicorns peep through
Copses adorned with crystals.
Tiptoe on chamomile lawns,
Mesmerized by trickling
Rainbow fountains,
Through stone arches.
Xanadu’s most secret,
enchanted garden.
