My cottage garden glows
With ragged pink blush
Poppies.
Summer winds blowing,
Tumbling petals flowing
Through a sea of leaves;
Frilly foxgloves enticing bees.
My cottage garden glows
With ragged pink blush
Poppies.
Summer winds blowing,
Tumbling petals flowing
Through a sea of leaves;
Frilly foxgloves enticing bees.
Glossy cheeky buds
Unfurling like sateen skirts
Blowing in the wind,
Delightfully sensual too:
A memory of summer.
I’m enjoying the Tanka poetic form. I hope you enjoy my poem. This beautiful red flowered shrub in my cottage garden is so divine.
Enjoy your weekend!😃
Silk swirling frocks,
Mingling at the summer ball.
A scented breeze,
Timely sends bursting buds to
Rest upon the lawn.
Purposely the lover places them in
A wicker box, ties it tight with forget-me-nots;
With red rose ink he pens
‘Holly meet me tonight at the folly’.
The story begins.
Summer colour in the cottage garden
