Cowparsley dream

Cowparsley dream

Cavorting capriciously
In a Cowparsley cloud,
Voraciously darting
About; proudly
Singing aloud.
Shrouded in baby bunny-
Fine fluff,
Dreaming of silken
Butterflies,
Preening on
Milky filigree
Tufts.

When walking in the countryside around the beautiful sleepy hamlet of Bygrave with my friend and our three dogs, we took a footpath through a copse which was filled with Cowparsley. We trailed through a cloud of fluffy tufts, a dreamy, magical maze.

Ese’s weekly shoot quote challenge:Memories

image

‘ Memories are the key not to the past
but the future.’
Corrie Ten Bown

Time to wander,
Pondering whilst
Sauntering on
Sunny,
Silky,
Wet sand
Like a caramel
Fudge land.
Salty lips,
Chalky skin,
A deep,
Warm mineral
Breath in:
Letting go.
Waves fade
Negative thoughts
Wash away.
Sea lavender breeze,
Flotsam of old trees.
Memories like
Sea glass pebbles
And sea shell patterns
In the sand.

Ese’s challenge ‘memories’ gave me the idea to return to the memory of the walk with my husband and dogs on the Norfolk sands one carefree day when we were on holiday and had time to saunter and breathe in the minerals and taste the seaside. It was a precious memory, where we got lost in our own thoughts, reminisced and had fun with our dogs. The light was wonderful, so relaxing.

Ese’s weekly shoot and quote challenge:Silence

image

Waters’ gleam
Charcoal silhouettes dream;
Mellow scene;
Tangerine ripples,
Heavenly sparkles.

Shadows darken,
Silence harkens
A winter lullaby.

Swans glide
Like ghostly galleons;
Coots roost,
Owls hoot;
Nature’s curtain falls,
Memories are caught
In the dream
Catcher’s web.

Furry Friday: Inquisitive pony

image

Little pony,
Lonely,
Inquisitive eyes,
Watches walkers’
Lives.
Waiting
For a friend
To groom him
And gallop
To the moon,
Hopefully soon!

NaBloPoMo:Winter weaver

image

Winter weaves
Dreams of
Summer’s lush
Leaves;
Autumn’s sanguine
Song,
Breathing meanly
Cooling
The land.

Winter weaves
Willows’ writhe;
Hazels’ howl;
Vixens’ prowl;
Squirrels squeal;
Hawks scream.
Deer dream.

Winter weaves
A breaching
River race:
Herons’ watch,
Gracefully.

Winter weaves
Barren branches
Reaching;
Cerulean skies
Fleeting.
Dreaming.
Weaving.

Spirit of summer

image

Surrounded by summer blooms,
A perfectly secreted
Scented summer seat
Inspires a stolen siesta.
Sleepy eyelids bathe in
Warm lapis and
Lavender,
Inducing imaginative
Dreams;
Doves dozing,
Herons plunging,
Children’s
Bubbly babble.
Wafting petals,
Summer snow;
The ministry of bees
Indulging in
Pollen heaven.
An enchanting
Party of
Butterflies
Enjoying
A  tipsyTarantella.
Sunshine shimmers
A fizzy glimmer of
Fairy dust
As devas’
Mischeviously
Dive in
And out
Of Delphiniums’
Drunken trumpets.

Weekly photo challenge: Nostalgia: Memory cottage

photo challenge, ‘nostalgic’image

Granny’s gate
Always open.
Skipping along
The cobbled path,
Brushing by
Candyfloss flowers
And lollypop lupins.
Icing sugar windows
Glisten.

West wind blows
Memories through
The front door;
Wibbly wobbly
Licorice beams
And painted furniture
For the three bears.
Rippling rose syrup
Ice cream topped
With sugar violets,
Savoured whilst
Wooed with
Tales of olden days
And recipes of
Dripping pink
Iced buns and
Drizzling
Lemon cake.

Whispers of
Garden Fairies
Painting dainty
Dust on playful
Plump plums,
Blushing berries
And sparkling
Strawberries.

Glowing gran
Kisses goodbye,
The vignette fades
To a hazy
Kaleidoscopic
Dream.

Nostalgia brings
Tears of joy,
Weeps away fears
And deeply
Heals.

Honeysuckle feast

image

Honeysuckle’s
Honey fingers,
Dipped in prickly
Pink sugar,
Drizzling deliciously
Over a glorious cup cake.
Honey bees satiated,
Hawk moths furtively
Feasting at midnight,
As honeysuckle
Releases
Heavenly perfume.

Wildwood fantasy

image

My childhood fantasy
Took me to the wildwood
Of my dreams.
Here in the wildwood
Existed earth
Sprites and nymphs.
I glimpsed them
Dancing and
Singing mysteriously.
I wished I was
Part of their world.

Dream homestead

image

Paper white,
Dream homestead,
An invitation of
Freshly laundered linen,
Sweet oiled pine
And a baby soft blanket;
Cosseted by blossom
Laden blooms of
Gently beating hearts.
Windows zealously open,
Bringing in
The serene signature
Of the natural
Healing garden.
