Majestically, a heron
Poises like an alabaster statuette.
When a ripple in the water
Takes his fancy,
The handsome heron
Dips quickly into the
Silent, sunlit pool.
Flipping his catch
Proudly, he moves from his patch
In a dash,
With a glinting flicker
Of feathers,
Singing in
The wind.

Gleaming Banquet
After the rain,
Sollom clouds wallow.
Suddenly,
Sunlight heaves back
The mighty black blanket:
Thus revealing nature’s
Gleaming banquet.
Seeing yet more rain on the window panes did not inspire me to take the dogs for a walk. Then I just thought that nature has a way of surprising the quiet lone walker, aware of the landscape and its glory.
The walk turned out to be long because there were so many wonderful happenings and sounds to delight my senses and far too much to capture. When we returned to the cottage, we were cold and wet so we settled by the fire with hot tea and toast. 🙂

Furry Friday
What could be better than watching my dog weaving through the meadow! A beautiful breezy day with a few menacing clouds to complete the scene.
Here’s the other one cooling down. Oh what fun we’re having today.
I’ve also added my post to Michelle’s weekly pet challenge. You can see the other entries below.

Running Free
Running free
In fields of dreams,
Through delicate meadow
Flowers:
Curious cornflowers
And dallying daisies;
Butterflies, zig zagging,
Tagging and
Surfing summer
Breezes.
Sharing their fun,
On tiptoes I run,
Through seas
Of seeds crackling;
Caressing chamomile;
Blinking bumblebees;
Hovering Damselflies,
An appreciative audience!
Time to leave
The dusty glowing
Shifting shades
Of summer:
The meadow’s
Melodious
Meditations.
