Groaning, hollow seedheads reach,
Dark shifts crystal ball.
I haven’t written a Haiku for a long while. It’s simpl
This photo was taken just a few week’s ago on beautiful October day. We often spend our holidays walking along the North Norfolk coastal path with our Border Collies. The Salt Marshes have a wild beauty unique to Norfolk and is a fabulous place for spotting seabirds, wildlife, wild flowers, butterflies and dragonflies. We were walking from Stiffkey to Morston when I took this opportunity to photograph the Creek with the sleeping boats gently swaying as the tide came in. I wonder who uses the jetty? Who built the jetty?
November dark evenings are a good time to reflect on our holidays. This picture also fits Cee’s Which Way challenge for this week.
Enjoy !
Tick tock Dandelion clock.
Seeds of Thyme and memories like a good wine.
Tompion’s cottage garden is where clock enthusiasts flock:
Little Tom Thumb swings from pendulums of spider’s thread,
Landing in a beautifully scented pink flowery bed.
I have been fascinated by this lovely old cottage for some time,so this morning as I drove past it, the golden early morning sunshine lit up the ravishing cottage garden so beautifully that I had to stop and take this photo. Tompion’s cottage at Ickwell Green, in Bedfordshire, England is very important part of Bedfordshire’s heritage and in fact England’s too. Thomas Tompion was the father of English Clockmakers and watchmakers (born c 1639and died 1713). He was buried in Westminster Abbey,London. The cottage was his home and is now maintained by the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. His prestigious clocks are still fully operational today.
I hope you enjoy with me in his garden!
Winter crystals like
Shimmering tinsel;
Fizzing sherbet on dark
Lush leaves.
Silver stars on a golden sceptre:
Towering crispy seeds.
I took these photos in my garden this morning because when I looked out of the window on a crystal dusted winterland, I couldn’t resist rushing out to capture the moment. The winter in England has been so mild this year, it’s so very special to have a frosty morning. Enjoy. 🙂
This Solar print was inspired by my moonlit frosty dog walks. The seedheads were encrusted with ‘fairy dust’ reaching out to the moon.
This solar print was inspired by my photos of trees in winter, taken In what I call the ‘Fairy wood’; a beautiful, quiet, well planted woodland where we often walk. Every day there is something new to see. The Green Woodpecker has been a recent visitor. My dogs love to chase squirrels and jump over the piles of logs, the woodland is a natural Green Gym.
Mystical Thistles
Twist their silver
Bristles.
Sycamore keys
Kiss in seed
Filled mists.
Fairies in gilded rickshaws
Ride at a lick on
Chamomile lawns:

Victorian town Parks such as this one near the stunning Embankment in Bedford, offer beautiful borders along pathways to explore, abundant with nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. I enjoyed a lazy summer afternoon here with a friend after a leisurely lunch. I expect these thistles will appear in my design work soon! 🙂
Sauntering sodden fields,
Watching watery, wintery
Skies shyly shielding
A glistening yield:
Twinkling beaded seeds,
Wrought, listening reeds
Among apricot tinted
Streams and meads.
Around the village of Cople in Bedfordshire, there are many quiet country walks where because the land is fairly flat one can enjoy sauntering, seeing where one ends up just walking the many old footpaths and bridleways. My dogs are always happy splashing in puddles whilst I breathe in nature’s yield, watching a brown Hare or listening to nature’s harpsicord, the stream. Nothing was more magical than wandering along the track as the sun gradually sunk, gone for another wonderfully rich day.
