Om Yam Om

We all cope with life’s challenges in different ways. As you know I love nature and everything natural and find the power of nature very healing. I love this peaceful image of the closeness of the geese, safely warming themselves on the opposite bank of the Grand Union Canal near Tring.
This post is called ‘Om Yam Om’ because it is a healing Bija mantra(sounds) for the Anahata chakra (heart chakra). I’ve been sounding this lovely mantra as part of my yoga practice. I’ve also been working on a yoga asana sequence from Swami Ambikananda’s book, ‘Healing yoga’, to purify my mind and body through balancing the heart chakra. This chakra governs the impulses of all the communication systems in the body, particularly that of the nervous system.
The experience of working to balance the heart chakra is very calming. We can all open, speak through our hearts, listen to our hearts and feel peace.

Fanciful Fritillary

Fanciful Fritillary
Smiles through bonnet,
Seated playing her Lyre,
Sweetly lilting a sonnet.
Swaying in glittering rays,
Fairy messengers
Sing songs of praise.
Tingling, mingling,
The hazy day’s
Healing ways:
Fairies linger
Stroking Fritillaries
Stamens.

Rare Beauty

Rare beauty,
Radiantly proud;
Her swollen
Sphere,
Serenely shining,
Gently smiling;
Streaming through
Bedroom windows,
Night gazers
Stare, euphoric,
Illuminated;
Drenched in
Lunar energy.
An innocent
Smile
On the angel’s face,
Reflects elation
On the maternal moon.
Rocketing high,
The angel reaches
Touching incandescent
Sparkling light.

My artwork, ‘Reiki angel’ was inspired by a reiki meditation, where I saw her standing in front of me, reaching for the moon. After a few nights of meditating by the light of the blue moon and just gazing, I felt I had to write a poem. I hope you enjoy it.

About the Blue Moon
An astrological Blue Moon is rare; it happens when the moon is full twice in a solar month, giving us two full moons in the same zodiac sign.  The second of those is the Blue Moon.  The next Blue moon will be in June 2016.

Simple seeds,
Starlights
Adorning banks
And fields,
Guiding us

Like celestial
Balls of
Concentric
Energy,

Rambling
Feeling free like red,
Blue and violet scarves
Swirling in saline breeze
Memories of Tibetan
Prayer flags.
Glinting earth jewels
Entrancing, pebbles
With faces like seals.
Radiant solar warmth shines
On gently crashing waves,
Voices of the sea singing
Nature’s forever
Healing grace.
Shyly, waves recede,
Frothing like a delicate

Walk through magical
Woody glades towards
Your imaginary place.
Under bare feet,
Carpets of wild herbs
Warm, soothe.
Fingers reach out
Touching fresh
Young leaves,
Caressing delicate silk.
Rest by ancient trees
Creaking reassuringly.
Your mind drifts
With bluebell
Intoxication;
Miles away,
Across the wide
Sea of imagination.

Restoration

Awesome  Archangels
Protect  souls  of ages
Bring  light and restoration
To Elementals who dwell
Unseen in ancient vines.

Essences of time

Whispering  ripples 

Pebbles,  textural muted secret messages

Shivering slates shine

Icy  reflections  melt

In a glistening  golden  haze

Ancient messages

Dry, deep notches like ancient veins. Musty, crumbling messages bleeding, oozing earth’s essences. Wrap and weave around her giant paternal bows and swollen girth.
