Uplifting Rainbow

The sky darkens

Inkblots spread

Creating ghostly shadows

Swallowing the land.

Creatures hide Iin hollows

As spectral crossbows shoot

Icy arrows.

Suddenly white wings sweep

Across the shadows;

Golden breath blows

A magical rainbow of

Sparkling light.

Reviving rain

image

Rain revives waning blossom,
A faded, aged May Queen’s trane.
Tuneful, cooling teeny tears
Fall from scented ‘ears’,
Dissolving fears;
Blessing those who choose
To be the poet’s muse
And walk along the enchanted lane.

Yesterday,we waited forever for the torrential rain to ease so that we could

Periwinkles Twinkling

image

A sprinkling of lavender jewels twinkle;
Periwinkles’ are fairies tools,
Wound on earth’s spindles,
Into wedding bedding
With rose quartz runes.
As newly weds sleep,
Their dreams steep
Together so they are bound
Peacefully forever.

Frosty moments

Frost temporarily preserves
The landscape in fine sugar dust:
A lustful feast.

Crusted tufts of wind whipped grasses
And rusted busts of proud seedpods,

Languish in a spangled frozen sea.
On rough textured tracks, puddles
Like mystical misted mirrors,
Creak and crack as sunshine
Seeps through apricot pillows
And weeping trees.

The dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our frosty world of spangled surprises, apricot skies and mystical mirrors which creaked as we walked through our local countryside in rural Bedfordshire. Captured in every breath and every step this temporarily preserved moment was truly magical. Enjoy.

Mystical Thistles

thistles-01

Mystical Thistles

Twist their silver

Bristles.

Sycamore keys

Kiss in seed

Filled mists.

Fairies in gilded rickshaws

Ride at a lick on

Chamomile lawns:

Admired by

Nymphs

Tooting silver

Horns.

Victorian town Parks such as this one near the stunning Embankment in Bedford,  offer beautiful borders along pathways  to explore, abundant with nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the town.  I enjoyed a lazy summer afternoon here with a friend after a leisurely lunch. I expect these thistles will appear in my design work soon!  🙂

Midnight glazed pearls

midnight glazed pearls
Unfurling mysteries
From midnight glazed pearls:
The fae girls’ glistening
Whirling eyes.

Autumn is such a magical time anyway, however this autumn feels really special with its abundant gifts of beautiful fruits, bursting with healing energy. In every hedgerow and dangling from many trees are so many fruits, berries and nuts; we’re spoilt for choice. My husband made many jars of Damson jam to see us through the winter and spring.

Essence of Presence

Essence of presence

Preserved momentarily.

Precious and precarious,

Language of otherworldlyness.

How cathartic torrential rain can be. Even though I got soaked I felt closer to nature. All my senses became enhanced. It was a wonderful experience. Enjoy.:-)

Serene Saturday: Cerulean Cornflowers

Cerulean cornflowers

Sedately soaring like

Sapphire stars;

Touring tourmaline

Skies.

An old Egyptian legend tells us that  tourmaline, on its way up from the centre of the earth, passed over a rainbow. So that’s why  it is still referred to as the ‘gemstone of the rainbow’.

Toumaline in crystal therapy is known to heal the mind.

Lyrical Lilac

Lyrical Lilac

Lilac lyrically
Soothes the
Humble Bumble,
Busily mumbling
And tumbling
In a jumbled
Shoal of sherbet,
Elfin confectionery.
Lilac starlets
For Fairy Queen’s
Tartlets.

Folklore describes the lilac tree as bringing peace and harmony. It represents spring having arrived and draws protective spirits into our lives. The lilac is buzzing with nature spirits where music is always being played bringing harmony into our lives.

First blustery blossom

Image

First blustery

First blossom,
Scenting
Blustery mornings
Like freshly
Laundered linen.
Fairy bride’s millinery,
Glowing with
Knowing fragility
Sewing silver
Threads
Around
Bethrothed heads,
Beginning
Of March,
They be wed.
