Holly hocks ball

Ruby red holly hocks,

Silk swirling frocks,

Mingling at the summer ball.

A scented breeze,

Timely sends bursting buds to

Rest upon the lawn.

Purposely the lover places them in

A wicker box, ties it tight with forget-me-nots;

With red rose ink he pens

‘Holly meet me tonight at the folly’.

The story begins.

Summer colour in the cottage garden

Periwinkles Twinkling

image

A sprinkling of lavender jewels twinkle;
Periwinkles’ are fairies tools,
Wound on earth’s spindles,
Into wedding bedding
With rose quartz runes.
As newly weds sleep,
Their dreams steep
Together so they are bound
Peacefully forever.

Soothed by the great ancient Oak

Soothing great ancient Oak
The Great Oak’s
Grooves,
Soothes the
Lovers’
Mood.
Tearful sap
Moves along
A wrinkling
Life’s map.
Dryads hearing about
The endearing team,
Draw the lovers
To the healing scene;
Tying them forever,
Settling the great tree.
