Periwinkles Twinkling

image

A sprinkling of lavender jewels twinkle;
Periwinkles’ are fairies tools,
Wound on earth’s spindles,
Into wedding bedding
With rose quartz runes.
As newly weds sleep,
Their dreams steep
Together so they are bound
Peacefully forever.

Soulful Roses

Lover’s tipsy posies

They sip dewy petal potions

As their rouched lips

Whisper

A tryst…

Betroval.

Celebration

Reflections

My son gets married on Saturday, so as you can imagine I’ll be very busy over the next couple of days! So I’ve taken a quiet moment, while my dogs lie asleep to reflect on a few beautiful moments of spring. My son is getting married to a lovely Scottish girl in Edinburgh. The celebration is to be held at a Scottish country home and estate, so I hope to be capturing the essence of that beautiful day and location and share it with you next week.

Om Yam Om

Om Yam Om

We all cope with life’s challenges in different ways. As you know I love nature and everything natural and find the power of nature very healing. I love this peaceful image of the closeness of the geese, safely warming themselves on the opposite bank of the Grand Union Canal near Tring.
This post is called ‘Om Yam Om’ because it is a healing Bija mantra(sounds) for the Anahata chakra (heart chakra). I’ve been sounding this lovely mantra as part of my yoga practice. I’ve also been working on a yoga asana sequence from Swami Ambikananda’s book, ‘Healing yoga’, to purify my mind and body through balancing the heart chakra. This chakra governs the impulses of all the communication systems in the body, particularly that of the nervous system.
The experience of working to balance the heart chakra is very calming. We can all open, speak through our hearts, listen to our hearts and feel peace.
You can find out more about the chakras and mantras here, where there is a utube mantra video too.

Love spring

Love spring

Spring explodes

Singing, zinging,
Loads of mingling,
Icecream pinks twinkling,
Dreamy violas’ winking.

First blustery blossom

Image

First blustery

First blossom,
Scenting
Blustery mornings
Like freshly
Laundered linen.
Fairy bride’s millinery,
Glowing with
Knowing fragility
Sewing silver
Threads
Around
Bethrothed heads,
Beginning
Of March,
They be wed.

Ese’s weekly shoot quote challenge:Memories

image

‘ Memories are the key not to the past
but the future.’
Corrie Ten Bown

Time to wander,
Pondering whilst
Sauntering on
Sunny,
Silky,
Wet sand
Like a caramel
Fudge land.
Salty lips,
Chalky skin,
A deep,
Warm mineral
Breath in:
Letting go.
Waves fade
Negative thoughts
Wash away.
Sea lavender breeze,
Flotsam of old trees.
Memories like
Sea glass pebbles
And sea shell patterns
In the sand.

Ese’s challenge ‘memories’ gave me the idea to return to the memory of the walk with my husband and dogs on the Norfolk sands one carefree day when we were on holiday and had time to saunter and breathe in the minerals and taste the seaside. It was a precious memory, where we got lost in our own thoughts, reminisced and had fun with our dogs. The light was wonderful, so relaxing.

Furry Friday: Inquisitive pony

image

Little pony,
Lonely,
Inquisitive eyes,
Watches walkers’
Lives.
Waiting
For a friend
To groom him
And gallop
To the moon,
Hopefully soon!

Weekly photo challenge: Horizon

image

Welcoming weekend
ramblers
Sauntering;
Sunny faces
Seeping fading
Sleepy rays,
Catching the
Final glimpse
of gliding
Swans
And
Sweeping
Gulls
Before
The horizon
Melts
Like a
Golden,
Caramelized
Butter sauce.

This poem and photo is my response to post a days photo challenge,’horizon’,  We thought the day was going to possibly be one of the final, sunny, warm days of the year: it was indeed and the whole world seemed to turn out to enjoy an afternoon stroll. The photo was taken by the river near Hertford, Hertfordshire.
