Replenishing Rapeseed

Rapeseed replenishes,

Energises.

Clouds of buttery yellow billow;

Brimstones and Commas drenched

In honeyed pollen,

Wings tilting elegantly

Dancing in sunshine.

Unfortunately those gorgeous delicate butterflies won’t linger long enough! But it is wonderful to watch them.

Rapeseed oil I hear is very good for us, especially if it is cold pressed. It can help painful joints.

Happy Easter all! 🙂

The troubadour

The troubadour seeks hellibores

As his muse,

He visualises a heart wreath made of

Velvet warm petals,  meek rose pink

Twinkling  flowers and snow whites in fine fettle:

A delicate meander of pattern and colour.

From his medieval stone garret,

He weaves his words of love and valour.

Serene Snowdrop

Serene Snowdrop,

Small heart translucent face,

Peeping shyly through downy lace.

Awakened by a sour biting  breeze,

Which makes her cower, she

Curls up, sheltering under boughs

Of mighty beech trees.

Suddenly a shower of frosty crystals

Adorn the mysterious, tearful princess,

Crowning her with a spectacular tiara

As the dryad minstrels play their lyres.

Tree festival

Through wild woods,

Parting shimmering drapes,

Greeted by a fanning of tiny hands

Seated next to dryads wrapped in cosy ruby capes.

Swirling dervlas swish folksy skirts,

Weaving dreamily through silver birches.

Crystals wink as the fairy choir sings in the wings,

Waiting for woodland girl to emerge, her gown tinged with whispers

of pearly tears.

Trailing across silvery skies, a carriage pulled by white doves glides…

The audience sighs!

Queen of the forest has arrived!

Delicate Dragonfly

Delicate dragonfly’s  iridescent wings like

rainbow beings, flying  high in angelic beams;

Dancing with filigree seeds like snowflakes and pearly beads.

Entranced by glistening tears on ‘Old man’s beard’,

 Gliding golden speckled skies;

riding the tide of sighs,

Seeking sophorific  berries
Juicy  as cherries.

Rhapsodic Roses

Rhapsodic roses

Tumbling from pergolas

Showering our senses with

Aromatic essences;

Dreamy marshmallow,

Teeny fairy dancers,

Sprinkles of sherbet,

So tangy with a hint of lemon curd;

Silky peach petals so delightful,

Fluttering in buttery summer light.

West wind song

Wild westerly breeze howls through bristling trees,

Whistling  and hissing and zig zagging between wheat sheafs,

Which crackle, rattle, battle and beat.

Chattering corn buntings cling,

Feverishly fending

As the crop bends like a ferocious ocean.

Golden Rose

A golden rose entices your nose,

closer to Iits glowing heart.

A sniff of summer apricot tart,

Smiling barley corn fields

And high fluttering larks,

Lulling you out of the dark.
This beautiful rose was planted in spring and is happily flowering, delighting hearts. 🙂

Tranquility among the grasses

Bashfully passing through
Languishing grasses,
As peeping, floppy poppies
Leap and dive like dashing
Flamenco dancers.

Love in the mist

image

Nigella waits wistfully for their
Lover’s tryst,  sky blue eyes
Filled with tears.
Suddenly she sees him gallantly
Galloping and cloaked in sapphire sateen;
Her fears abating,
He appears out of the mist.

I adore the beautiful Nigella or the popular name for the flower ‘Love in the mist’. The flower not only inspired my photograph and my poem but also a simple potato print fabric design. I loved mixing ultramarine full bodied acrylic with white and fabric medium together to create a fresh ‘Love in the mist blue’. Potatoes aren’t the easiest veg to carve so I chose a primitive flower shape to give the essence of my Nigella. I printed it freehand on cotton fnabric and let it dry in the sun. It was just a test piece but great fun to do! I hope you like it. 🙂
