After the rain, pink buds
Burst with delicate scents reminiscent
Of rhubarb, rose and lemon.
Stepping through the glade, entranced,
Serenaded by tiny pearly drips
Cascading from blossom lips
And freshly opened leaves.
After the rain, pink buds
Burst with delicate scents reminiscent
Of rhubarb, rose and lemon.
Stepping through the glade, entranced,
Serenaded by tiny pearly drips
Cascading from blossom lips
And freshly opened leaves.
A delicious papery swathe,
Twinkling petals bathe in
Sunny rays.
Honey scented breezes
Flicks filigree flakes,
Freeing,
Whirling,
Parachuting
Into warm puddling lakes.
Raspberry tassles, tantalize;
Dainty clematis dazzle;
Muscari like mini pyramids of lapis lazuli brighten shady corners
Whilst amethyst anemones smile
Even when their petals are tattered by windswept twigs.
