Magical summer morning

Magical summer morning

Watch the soothing sun stretch warm

Limbs from downy clouds like galloping

Unicorns across misty lawns.

Singing Skylarks wistfully twist

High into the watery distance,

As eaves of Barley corn kiss.

Where I live in the little village of Cople, Bedfordshire, Β I can go out of my garden gate with my two Border Collies and walk for miles along footpaths and bridleways which take me through fields of Barley, peas and beans and many more crops. The Barley is soon to be harvested but looks stunning at the moment, particularly in the early morning and evening light. I love Β to hear the corn popping in the heat. What do you love about summer? πŸ™‚

  1. Gorgeous lighting. My favorite things about summer are lake swimming and drinking tea out in the garden while reading a lovely book. You live in a wonderful place.
