Magnificent Magnolias,
Boldly looming.
Unfolding like fine
Scented silk.
A festival of pink petal plumes,
Soothing,
Hearts of spring.

How grand is this gorgeous Georgian property, framed with a confetti of delicately scented Magnolia I drive past this house every day. I love the gates and front door too.

And the meandering branches and their natural pattern, juxtapositioned against the roof of my Victorian cottage.
Just popped in the photos of my fireplace to update you on the cottage renovations and to apologise for not posting! Β There are so much wonderful changes as spring gets under way with the warmer weather, here in the South UK. I hope all of you living in other countries where it is cooler at the moment are are keeping cosy. π
Magnificent poem and photos! I love magnolias. And that Georgian house is perfect, isn’t it? Such a heyday of architecture. I like your fireplace, but feel sad it has no mantel. I love a fine mantel.
Thanks Brenda. We now have a fine rustic pine mantel to compliment the cottage and when the fire’s roaring away it is so soporific! Now we’re living here, I need a mantle mirror to finish off the look and intend to search for one in our local weekly auction. π
Best of luck finding it!
Thanks Brenda. π
so very lovely!! Your cottage sounds wonderful!
Thank you. We’ve moved in now and it feels so homely already. I’m discovering something new an quirky every day. π

I look forward to seeing photos of your Magnolia, I bet it’s lovely. Yes, I’m so looking forward to warming my toes beside the fire and toasting crumpets. Even on a summer evening a small log fire is nice. Have a lovely evening Sue. Thank you for reading. π
Yes nothing beats a living flame. π
You’re right Sue and now we’ve moved in I’m enjoying a log fire every evening. π
Brilliant LG… and the log fire I am sure has been welcome since it turned chilly again.. π xxx
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels cold! My husband thinks it’s mild but then he’s Scottish. However he likes lighting the fire for me to toast my tootsies on. We’ve had some beautiful clear skies and fab sunsets recently. We saw a barn owl last night, just flying off into the sunset. Are you having lovely evenings Sue? Xx
Beautiful spring photos.
Thanks Raewyn. π
