Spring wishes

spring wishesSpring flowers,

Winter showers,

Tingling cheeks,

Secretly wishing for

Warm weeks.

Over the last few days when I have been out walking, my cheeks have smarted from the bitter winds, reminding me that we are not far enough away yet from winter days. However, spotting the peeping of little Violets, Narcissi and primrose and the beautiful displays of hyacinths in village gardens, make me feel optimistic and wishing for warm days when one can feel the sun’s gentle energy.

Don’t forget the solar eclipse on Friday 20th March.

Nature’s muse

2015-02-23 11.00.48-3_2Lullaby orchard,

Undulating verdant lawn,

sundrenched spring morn,

Thawing thirsty buds,

Bursting with

Honeyed dew:

Nature’s muse.

Sometimes my sat nav takes me up a country lane which appears to be going nowhere. Without this quirky technology I wouldn’t have found this gorgeous little tranquil spot deep in the English countryside. I stopped my car and the dogs and I drank in the honeyed, gentle early spring morning. It was a special moment which reminded me of how inspirational nature is to me. Enjoy your day or evening. 🙂

A comforting thought

2015-02-18 16.46.18-1_1When feeling fraught,

A cup of tea is

A comforting thought.

A fairy bell

Tinkles in the glen!

Alerting magical waiters

To wield  their pens.

A steam of perfume

Floats about the room,

Lifting the gloom.

Quickly the tea fairy

Sweeps up the crumbs,

With her funny wee broom.

Rose,

Violets,

Forget-me-nots

And sweet lilac,

Fluted chinzy china,

Sugar sweet tickling

Lips

Rippled raspberry

Giant meringues.

Ivy weaves

Ivy weaves glossy leaves

O’er potting shed knots

And rusty locks.

Lingering  on gusty

Limbs and whispering

Wise rings.

The great ancient

Sings.

Springs  is here, but winter winds bit into my dry lips and reminded me today to protect myself from the elements and keep nourished and warm. We enjoyed exploring the wild woodland and listening to their songs.
