Royal residence

Royal residence

The Queen mother was brought up in this beautiful, quiet, secluded home in Hertfordshire. I love the Magnolia flowers growing around the door giving it a homely feel even if the doorway is grand. Have you noticed that the door is slightly ajar? Welcoming.

  1. What an intriguing doorway! I’d love to tiptoe inside. The magnolia is gorgeous! x

  2. A slightly ajar door is welcoming and comforting. Thus, I like to think the same of us – a soul slightly ajar, always, for a visitor.

  3. Oh, it is magnificent! Is it your photo? Did you go there? Did you peek inside? I also want to live there!! 🙂

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the photo of the Queen Mum’s house. It is my photo (all the photos on my blog are my own). There is a scheme called ngs, gardens open for charity, this beautiful garden was open for an afternoon, it was full of colour. The house wasn’t open to the public but we did meet the Queen’s cousin who was helping with the teas in the garden. I agree, I’d love to be walking through that door and taking my shoes off! 🙂

  4. Wow, great picture. I love the magnolias. I tried to leave a comment on Zealous Yellow, but comments are closed. I was going to offer to reblog that, if you like. 🙂 I love your blog, and I’ve been happy to catch up. 🙂 I always leave happier than I arrived. Warmly, Brenda
