Fabulous flowers

Today has been so beautiful that I have decided to show you my celebration of spring. I thank mother earth for this wonderful display.
Cee has also inspired me with her fun photo challenge this week, appropriately named flowers. I hope you all feel as uplifted as I do by these beautiful plants.

Caribbean Cavalcade

Caribbean Cavalcade
Caribbean cavalcade

Firework orange,
Exuberantly tangy
Swirling skirts.
Dangling, jangling
Luscious lime
Headresses;
Timely,
Shimmy and shake:
Elegantly fading
Into the midnight
Glade.

Fanciful Fritillary

 Fanciful Fritillary

Fanciful Fritillary
Smiles through bonnet,
Seated playing her Lyre,
Sweetly lilting a sonnet.
Swaying in glittering rays,
Fairy messengers
Sing songs of praise.
Tingling, mingling,
The hazy day’s
Healing ways:
Fairies linger
Stroking Fritillaries
Stamens.

The Queen mother was brought up in this beautiful, quiet, secluded home in Hertfordshire. I love the Magnolia flowers growing around the door giving it a homely feel even if the doorway is grand. Have you noticed that the door is slightly ajar? Welcoming.

Spring sun melts

Spring sun melts

Spring sun melts
Any mental anguish felt.
Sentinel beings,
Energise the ‘seers’

Nature’s sleepy tones,
Groan from aged
Tree holes.
Hooded nymphs glimpse
Into the lives of meek
Lonely souls.</

I was with my friend and two dogs in Knebworth country park on a beautiful spring evening. We walked through the churchyard where she introduced me to her ancestors sleeping peacefully. The birds were chirping softly and the aroma of bluebells was quite entrancing. As the dogs played, we watched the sun melt at the end of a perfect evening, melting thoughts and worries of the day.

Find your inner peace.

I posted this on The legion of door whores site. One beautiful day I came across this beautiful tranquil house, a retreat and home of 'Barefoot Therapies'. I loved the blue door, the Buddha and the wind chimes lulling me into that peaceful place.

Focus

Focus

2014-03-13 17.24.03-1_1This week’s writing prompt from Club Introvert is ‘focus’.
Edward de Bono’s quote was a great source of inspiration.
“Focusing on things that are normally taken for granted is a powerful source of creativity”.
In these seed heads I noticed their form, texture and patterning. In the landscape they add structure. They are last summer’s flowers, autumn and winter food for our birds. Even where there is now an abundance of spring colour and seed heads can be unnoticeable, we can focus on their understated beauty and usefulness.
