Almost Furry Friday!
A lovely herd of Galloway Belties, enjoying the moment on the Ashridge estate. They look so cuddly!
Note: My blog hasn’t been working properly since I started the new SMS authentication, I haven’t been able to load posts. I’ve no idea what is going on but it is very upsetting. My apologies to my readers and please stay with me. Thank you. Xxx
Remembering January
January 26th 2013
As the nights draw in in December, I feel it is a time for reflection and so I have decided to look back over my first year of blogging with wordpress and post a selection of pictures and writing, quotes and poems. It’s funny how these first walks in the countryside armed with at the time my phone camera and a small notepad, have come flooding back to me and reminded me of the peace and tranquillity of these special moments in the day when it was all mine to find the ‘essence’ and write from my heart. I hope you enjoy anyway!
A Winter Patchwork
Winter sky,
Diamond sparkling,
Patchwork fields
Fluffy,
Snugly snow,
Cattle gather
Munching
in furrows aglow.
January 24th 2013
Bright and Cheerful.
Nature’s signpost
Tells us to
Look deeper
At the warmth
Love
And light
Shining within.

Reflections
On these icy days,
Thaw and remember
Those around us
who may need us.
Lazy Sunday: Christmas cottage
Furry Friday: Owl king
Ese’s weekly shoot quote challenge:Memories
‘ Memories are the key not to the past
but the future.’
Corrie Ten Bown
Time to wander,
Pondering whilst
Sauntering on
Sunny,
Silky,
Wet sand
Like a caramel
Fudge land.
Salty lips,
Chalky skin,
A deep,
Warm mineral
Breath in:
Letting go.
Waves fade
Negative thoughts
Wash away.
Sea lavender breeze,
Flotsam of old trees.
Memories like
Sea glass pebbles
And sea shell patterns
In the sand.
Ese’s challenge ‘memories’ gave me the idea to return to the memory of the walk with my husband and dogs on the Norfolk sands one carefree day when we were on holiday and had time to saunter and breathe in the minerals and taste the seaside. It was a precious memory, where we got lost in our own thoughts, reminisced and had fun with our dogs. The light was wonderful, so relaxing.

Weekly photo challenge: Let there be light
Twinkling lights beckoned the shoppers at the St.Albans Christmas market as the temperature plummeted and twilight helped to create the wonderful magical festive atmosphere.

Ese’s weekly shoot and quote challenge:Silence
Waters’ gleam
Charcoal silhouettes dream;
Mellow scene;
Tangerine ripples,
Heavenly sparkles.
Shadows darken,
Silence harkens
A winter lullaby.
Swans glide
Like ghostly galleons;
Coots roost,
Owls hoot;
Nature’s curtain falls,
Memories are caught
In the dream
Catcher’s web.
