This poem and photo is my response to post a days photo challenge,’horizon’,  We thought the day was going to possibly be one of the final, sunny, warm days of the year: it was indeed and the whole world seemed to turn out to enjoy an afternoon stroll. Everywhere,
Musty fungi,
Munchy forage.
Prickles & pickles,
Russets & possets,
Jellies & relish,
Rambles & tangles.
Sanguine serenade.

Globes.
Heart warming
Winter woes!
Glistening
Globules,
Singing icicles.

Cheeky crab apples
Dangling,
Jangling,
Waiting to
Be picked
And bagged.
Rhubarb streaks,
Juicy,
Jolly.
Windfalls
Like resting
Robins.

Sinister sloes
Slyly winking,
Night-sky berries,
Halloween merry!
Picked and pricked,
Steeped in liquor.
Fireside ‘wee dram’,
Shadows flicker,
Country tales,
Embers bicker;
Shimmer,
Smoldering,
Smelting:
Slumber beckons.

Playful faces,
Abundant posies.
Prized petticoats,
Satin ribbons;
Tiptoes
Dancing,

Beguiling begonias

Quietly cooling
Sun beams like a
Heavenly
Searchlight.
Breaking away,
Granulated greys

Lurking
Purples:
Peacefully
The sun sighs,
Melting,
Mesmerising.
The perfect
Ending to
A beautiful
Autumnal
Day.

Glorious fanfare

Languishing Morning Glory,
Glowing like
A pixie’s French horn,
Bathing
Ceremoniously
In morning rays;
Playing a fanfare
To golden
Days.
