Snow

Nature has it’s way of making us slow down. After spending all of last week packing boxes and emptying cupboards we finally saud goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Scottish home. An end to an era and as I drove the Freelander down the road laden with much loved items, dogs and husband I started to think about new beginnings. Arriving here in the Lake district for an overnight stay, the wind began to howl and it’s bitterness sent us into hibernation in our room overlooking the lake. This morning we realised that it was a bad idea to join the travellers trying to get to work in blizzard conditions. Why? It made perfect sense to use the snow’s cathartic effect of cleansing, purifying and preparing for our new exciting beginning ahead. So we’ve done nothing but walk the dogs in the crisp air and snuggle down in our room with cumbrian home baked biscuits and tea. The
perfect book to read…’The Snow Child’ a brilliant, sensitively written first fairy tale novel which warms the heart.
